Hello Folks,
Time for some more 3rd edition 40k action! Thus time we are playing the bunker assault mission, the Iron Warriors must put their siege skills to the test and root out the Eldar.
Here's the set up, as defender I only get troops and HQ rest is in reserve. So storm guardians in the left bunker, defenders center, and farseer holding one on his own.
Iron warriors have havoc in the ruins plus more marines and tanks, including a basilisk!
After the first turn wr have 2 bunkers down! But not much casualties really.
Reserves start rolling, warphunter comes in a nukes a demon prince, war walk strategically achieve nothing! Fire dragons run into the bunker. The remaining storm guardians flame up the raptors then charge doing like 3 kills pretty good, the raptors then hit and run.
Back to the iron men, they damage the bunker but fail to kill it, a shell from 1 of the big tank hits the warphunter and knocks out it's big cannon.
More eldar trickery, bikes come on from reserve and kill the raptors, the 3 storm guys hide behind the building hoping to sneak attack the dread. Also finally kill the vindacator. But the other guy is still free the blast away with its earth shaker cannon.
Warriors keep things going cleaning up the war walkers, and getting the last bunker down.
Eldar time, my 3 storm guy walk out and light up the dread with pistols. 3 6s mean 3 glancing hits! Diwn goes the big boy. The dragons melt the obliterated as they do.
At some point the 3 dark reapers cone in and immedatly get earth shakered off the board 😅. I think in this shot the 3 heroic storm guardians are charging marines in cover.
Second to last turn, the warphunter flies back and then gets killed. Some blinking of a guy here and there but that's about it.
Actually a close game, very little left on both sides so we enter the mathematics phase. Math has the Iron Men up by like 200pts, so a victory for them!
Very fun game, this scenario turned out very balanced actually, thought I was cooked in the start hah.
3rd ed is where its at!
Thanks;
Mike
