Painting Update - Star Wars Legion

 Hello All,

Got another bitvif painting done, this time Syar Wars Legion. I have painted uo the Separatist half of the Clobe Wars starter. Mainly using the excellent Sorastro guides as suggested by Stan and Serge.

Full army shit to start so its the thumbnail.

B1 Battle Droids:

First unit of droids, this one with red accents. Super fast and easy to paint so there are allot of fun.

B1 Battle Droids:

Second unit but with blue, can never have enough droids, might have ti get a third unit!

Droidekas:

Some bigger droids ti bring heavier fire. These can turn into a ball and roll around, and you get both firms which I thought was pretty cool. Actually used a guide from Zorpazorp fir these as it seemed easier.

General Grevious:

Angry mode grevious ready to slice and dice some Jedi.

Barracades:

Even got the terrain done. May just have to add some buildings or something.

Anyway thats what I have painted so far. These were far easier and more fun then 8 had imagined, and the game seems fun so surely more to come!

Battle Report - Club Day ADLG

 Hello Folks,

We managed to get in another club day, this time around it was Art de la Guerre. Time fir some ancients battles. I took a War of the Roses army, and was to face Duncans War of the Roses, we both went York due to wanting pikes, but he was the pretenders. This is literally every stand i have painted thou so not like I have options.

I can't be bothered with the offical set up rules, and shifting things around and all that, plus I could only take a few elements of terrain so I just skipped all that nonsense and set up a table. I won the roll if and was the defender.

After my first move, I just advanced one flank, wanted to stick around the Artillery a bit.

Duncan advanced on an angle to meet, my big olde cannon was in range now and did a hit!

Turn 2 i move up a bit, and now get some longbow action. But the only result was my units taking hits, not super ideal.

Duncan advanced to longbow range as well, so lots of arrows now. This time its more even.

Next turn, on the right i wheel around to line up with the hill, and use all my pips in the center to get my knight in the line.

Duncan charges on the right, and moves into insult shouting range everywhere. This turn I enacted my plan to roll well, as you can see by lots of casualty dice and a missing bow unit!

Well its obviously chage o'clock, so I move in, its all combats now. Pretty even this time, we both loose a stand and take some hits. Knights pounding each other in the face and all that. Oh also on the right flank my general rolls a 6 against the pretender general rolling a 1, dead generals are great!

Final turn, were both kind of close to breaking, but I only need another kill. I'd say this round was fairly even, both sides took some hits, both lost a unit. That was enough to just break Duncans army, while I was like 3 points away?

So a great victory fir the English, against the evil tyranny of the English!

As usual a few shots of the other games:

Painting Update - Armada Orcs

 Hello All,

Finally managed to finish another painting project! This time around itsxan Orcs Fleet for the new Mantic game Armada.

Orcs:

Starting with the group shot for the thumbnail.

Hammerfists:

By far my least favorite ships, I find the spinning fist over the top, and the pushed back sails a bit odd. But still pretty cool.

Blood Runner:

Giant drills are totally fine by me, so I'm a fan of this one. Would like to get another one actually.

Bomb Ship:

This one is much smaller but has a big orc mouth with a Giant cannon, makes sense to me.

Smasher:

Now to me this is the perfect ship, Giant mouth full of fire! Thats how you get things done.

These ships look pretty cool and were lots of fun to paint, surprisingly easy i'd say. But they are all made of resin even the spindly masts, to me this a huge mistake. I'm sure they will break eventually.

I'll probably just buy another fleet if that happens thou. 🤣

Battle Report - Battletech Clan Invasion

 Hello Folks,

Yesterday was time for another game of battoectech. This time it was clan vs clan on a lava world. Thought this would be a fun mix up.

Special rules:

Ambient Temperature 70deg, so all mechs get +2 heat a turn

Magma: Gives to heat if walked through, 5 heat and 2d6 damage to parts that sound a full turn in it, and you might bog diwb and get stuck.

Magma Crust: hexes walked over break and turn to maga on a d6 roll of 6. Mechs might bog

We used random mech assignment and played with zelbrigen dudes, with the following mechs facing off:

Jade Falcon - Ghost Bear

Executioner vs Gargoyle

Hellbringer vs mad dog

Nova A vs Nova Prime

Mad Cat vs Summoner

Stormcrow vs ice ferret

Scenario was take and hold, so we had a communications truck near the center, you get a point each turn you hold it, most points over 10 turns wins.

To be honest this was maybe a bit to big of a battle to realistically complete.

Here's the set up. Full stars of clan mechs ready for action. The area between the yarn is the thin crist, used fire hexes to denote the new Magma.

Mostly advance with jade falcon scoring some hits, but ghost bear getting misses. Ghost bear have the fastest mech thou and are able to claim the truck turn 1. The ghost bear mech ended up breaking through the lava on his last move and got some heavy leg damage.

Turn 2 everyone charges in and the crust starts breaking up. My Nova flew up on a mountain because it seemed fun. The executioner was really pulling hits into the gargoyle, but my hellbringer was also taking some good damage. Magma is getting harder and harder to avoid!

Turn 3, starting to get hard keeping mechs moving fast, while avoid the Magma, and keeping 1 near the truck. Big event this turn is my executioner going around the bug rock. The gargoyle tried to follow but bogged down in the lava, taking a good bit of leg damage.

Turn 4 rolls around and its getting late, the sun is going down. The Jade Falcons feel that give time they would kills ghost bear mechs and win the scenario, really they deserve a win. Given that they decided to set aside the tenets of zelbrigen and just a hilary the 2 mechs by the truck. The mad cat even going so far as to shoot the mad dog in the back! For shame. Sadly despite a heroic attempt leaving both pretty crippled they dont quite go down.

Out of time the ghost bears declare themselves the winners and the falcons honourless scum and head home.

The Magma turned out to be very fun in the end, lots of drama moving units and seeing of they will breakthrough or not! Sadly this game was maybe a bit to big and we didn't have time to get even halfway through, making it a bit easy fir whoever gets the truck first. But the last ditch effort to cheat and spice things up was fun to. Everyone likes being evil afterall.

Thanks;

Mike

Battle Report - New Lasalle

 Hello Folks,

Time fir another club day report. This week everyone is excited to try out the new Lasalle version, hot off the presses.

I took my Prussian with Tods help providing 2/3 of my army (thanks!). Facing John using Tod's French. I choose the battle with a town on a hill, seemed fun and easy to bring terrain for. Objective is the town, but also has a sudden death rule if you loose a third of your force.

Here's the set up, couple of infantry brigades, now go murder so French people, maybe take a town if it seems convinenient.

Turn 1 move uo and make some lines.

Turn 2, a few units got into volley range but not allot. Also the evil French got their cav!

By turn 3 we have a real batch of fire. Some units getting beat up pretty hard. But still at the point where rallies keep them around.

Turn 4 and we start to see a few units breaking. I think I lost 3 and the French 1, plus the cavalry set up for the big show!

Which goes awesome for me, I loose an infantry unit who was caught in line, but break, all 3 French cav! Sadly a French attack breaks a unit out of my line.

In the end i loose 1/3 of my force, I try a desperate charge up the hill to see if I can also break the French. But poorly, and never really had an advantage to start.

So its a win for the French but pretty close, they were unit or 2 from breaking as well.

In the end new Lasalle has a few annoying bits, but its very fast and easy. Hardly any special rules or restrictions ect... The biggest problems of old Lasalle are fixed as well. So I'd say I'm more then happy to play this game.

As 7sual pics of the other great games:

Medium small scale battling across a river

Small small scale also across a river

Finally big scale across a river.

Was there some kind of river memo I didn't get?? Hah

Thanks;

Mike
