Battle Report - Star Wars Legion

 Hello Folks,

Time for another Wednesday wargaming Battle Report! This week Star Wars, Serge has just finished painting the original starter set, do we played with that, I control the rebels, facing Vader and his imperial scum.

Mission was breakthrough, but really just murder the other guy if we are honest.

Oh also we ignored the construction rules and just used everything, so the units have 2 soecial weapons.

Here's the set up, 2 rebel units woth Luke in the middle and a walking out on the flank.

Mostly just advance, but the bike swoop in and kill a trooper or 2.

Turn 2 Vader trundle forward and throws his Saber at a rebel unit, so Luke jumps in to fight him off. Having a good start doing 2x wounds.

Otherwise not so great for me as 1 rebel unit is shot to pieces.

But thexwalker takes revenge!

Next turn Luke plays his anakins son card so gets 2 attacks! But Vader makes allot of saves and both end up taking a beating. Plus my other unit of troopers has seen better days. The bikers are quot good it seems.

Next turn Luke guess the Vader will play 'ambush' so he gets to fight first, I can play a similar card but initiative swaps in a tie, so I play a slower card that gives a dodge. Luke os able to survive with 2 hots left and downs Vader! The rebellion is saved!

But bext turn he gets in a sword fight with some Stormtroopers. They beat him down, oh no the rebellion!

In the end the troopers were able to kill my walker with a well placed missile and clean up for the win.

All in all a fun game.

Thanks;

Mike

Battle Report - Star Wars Legion

 Hello All,

Wednesday wargami g has returned! This week we are playing Star Wars legion. Droids vs the Republic. Mission is capture the comms I think, 3 tokens in the middle to control and you get points at the ends of rounds 2, 4 and the end of the game.

No super fancy jedi, keeping it pretty simple. We did around 500 points I think.

Here's the set up.

Turn 1 us mostly positioning, but a few shot here and there. I think a few casualties but not8ng terrible

Next turn very many casualties, and mainly droids moving to objectives. Towards the end the spider droid got exploded and lots of things got killed.

End of turn 2 I was able 2 control 2 objectives, as we found out only troopers count not vehicles.

Turn 3 lots more killing. The cline troops are pretty difficult to put down it turns out, especially the vehicles! I feel like we end uo pretty even murder wise thou.

We ran out of time then, a bit slower moving as lots of looking up small rules. But technically a win fir the droids. Roger Roger!

Have to get some jedi in the mix next time.

Thanks;

Mike

Battle Report - Fallout - Quick Exit

 Hello All,

Today playing some of the Fallout game. My raiders vs Stan's Survivor. Basic idea is the hero has to grab some items and escape, the raiders have to beat him up.

Here's the set up, lonely Nora way in the back to cross the wasteland.

She moves to a barricade.

She loots a vault suit I think, second worst of the items? And moves towards the next item.  Meanwhile  psycho with a lead pipe comes steaming on.

Poor Npra grabs the next item, and... it's machette! Lead pipe almost ready to connect, and a raiders with a pipe rifle moves up, and a pistol guy comes on.

Pistol vs machete who will win?

A random event has a stranger show up, so pistol guy heads that way.

Pipe - machete battle rages on. Both sides getting some hits in. But the rifle raider is not worried and keeps firing shots in there, and he caps the psycho. Maybe she made a safe and the machete killed her I forget.

Sadly a now badly wounded survivor surrounded by gums far from the edge of victory.

The stranger ended up being an informat which is not that interesting.

This was fast so we played another couple of games as well, not great times for the heroes. It's a fun game, but we def need to start playing some bigger games with more guys!

Thanks;
Mike

Battle Report - Warhammer Fantasy Lizards vs Orcs

 Hello Folks,

Another day down at the club. This week I was,able to arrange a 1250 pt game of warhammer fantasy. Decided to take the Lizardmen and would be fighting orcs.

Here's the set up, mage sarus warriors, steggadon and skins on the left, terradons, skinks, sarus cav and a jaguar general on the right.

Advancing up, flew in the terradons to trigger fanatics. Few guys killed from magic on either side but nothing crazy.

Goblins on the far right reposition a bit to tale the sarus cav charge, and the arrest boys on the hill kill a terradon.

Next lizardmen turn. I'm very nervous about having to fight 3 blocks of orcs on the left, so I hold on that flank hoping to break through on the right. General charges the far archers who hold, but the cav crunches through the goblins and over run into the archers who also die. Not great for the orcs line.

Orcs adjust to take the charge, and 2 units advance. Not much magic luck, but the archers gmhold against my general!

Next turn everything goes my way. 2 units pf orcs roll bad for leadership and fail terror test. The other gets charged by sarus cav and terradons and breaks.

Orcs are able to rally, but just with 1 unit,  and  brace for the charge.

Charge goes ok, but the orcs roll a 3 on leadership and hold! I was right to fear fighting 3 blocks it seems. Thats the end of the luck thou sadly, a turn or 2 of grinding and despite few dead lizards the orcs eventually break and that's that.

All in all a fun game, few badly timed animosities and leadership fails sent things my way.

As usuak a few shots of other club games. Mostly ancients but a pike and shot game as well.

Thanks;

Mike

Battle Report - Fallout

 Hello Folks,

More gaming today. This time trying out the Fallout miniatures to see how that is. We dud the first scenario, where the super mutants have set sone traps they have to check for meat, but they also caught dog meat who the survivors need to rescue.

Here's the set up, mutants around dog meat, and survivors and settlers coming in for the rescue.

Turn 1, mutants spreading out to check traps. I hadcmy 2 rifle ladies lay down covering fire on the mutants while the survivors advances to save dog meat.

Turn 2, the mutants check 2 traps, and head back to beat up the survivor. Meanwhile the third is heading for a third trap but is getting  peppered up real good.

Turn 2, the mutant with a board charges the survivor, who disengages and frees dog meat. 🐕 but this leaves the sledge Hamer guy to start swinging. Dog meat is really goid ot turns out and starts biting up the mutants. Meanwhile the rifle ladies finish off the other guy.

Turn 4, so last of the scenario. Dig meat bites the face off one mutant, but the sledge hammer guy diwns the survivor. This leaves the rifle ladies to easily finish him.

In the end the dog was rescued, and the mutants only checked half the traps so a win for the good guys!

The Gallout game seems to be pretty fun, easy but some random things can happen. There's allot of tokens which is a bit fiddly, but so far seems good. Agree with Duncan that's its a bit like a more advanced walking dead game.

So far so good looking forward to the next.

Thanks;

Mike

Battle Report - Battletech Supply Raid

 Hello Folks,

Playing some battletech today, decided to do a supply raid mission. I'm attacking so can only take things with a walk of 6 or better or transported, and have 23 supply building to destroy.

Defender has 23 building to protect, but only gets 25% of their force to start, with another 25% on turn 5 and the rest turn 10.

I took a clan force with:

Piranha

Horned Owl

Vapor Eagle

Conjerer

Shadow Cat with battle armor riding

Facing an inner sphere firce with

Behemoth

Onto

Urban mech to start

Here's the set up, clans coming in from the corners, inner sphere forces patrolling diwn the road.

Charge in and start blowing up buildings. Onto got some good hits in on the eagle so feeling a bit dangerous. Really need to stay away from the slow tanks.

Next turn blowing up more building and putting good hits on the really big one which is worth 5. I think this turn someone git a really lucky hit and blew the turret off the behemoth tank.

Next go got the big building, plus some others. Been trying to pressure the urban mech but he is really hanging in there.

Turn 4, soon going to be reserves. Really need to kill some buildings and clean some forces out before reserves arrive. Piranha got behind the urban mech and shot him uo real giid with his 12 MGs, sadly took a gyro hit and lost a leg! So he is going to ve staying down.

The cavalry arrives, but they are slow movers. Cyclops and king crab 🦀 waddling up trying to get ac 20s in the game.

We played one more turn after this, but then we're running out of time. Sadly forgot the last picture. Anyway king crab got I think an ac 20 hit on piranha, so that's good night for him, and urban mech also went down. The 2 tanks are really beat up no turret, can't move, driver killed, sensors rocked, but still technically in it. A bit of other damage but nothing crazy.

In the end I easily got enough supplies destroyed fir the win. Not sure hiw fair of a scenario it is, but blasting building and mechs is fun si whatever right.

Trying Fallout tomorrow!

Thanks;

Mike

Painting Update - Marvel / Fallout

 Hello All,

Another small bit of painting, a few Marvel guys and a few Fallout guys. In the mood t9 mess around with some small projects.

First up Iron Fist and Luke Cage, fun guys to paint. All the fire was a bit annoying to put together but not to bad.

Also did wong a long while back, but I never had Marvel folder so maybe never posted it.

Anyway my plan is to slowly work on the defenders.

Then I have a few guys for the Fallout miniatures game. Lots of interest in trying this one out so grabbed a set at Fandom that seemed cool. Ended uo with the minute men.

Bought: 82
Painted: 120
Total: -38

Mike
