Battle Report - Warhammer the Old World

 Hello All,

Had our monthly fantasy day at Fandom, and it was finally tine to try out Warhammer the Old World.

We were playing 1,000 pts, I decided to keep things very simple and go with Chaos warriors, no shooting no magic, just a s8ngle hero and a giant for fun.

Game was just an open battle, pretty much just go murdering.

Set up for battle. Seems like the Chaos warriors outnumber the goblins which is odd, they went fir not 1 but 2 Lords in a thousand point game, which is allowed now.

Goblins move up screening with some prc archers, and with a giant taking point.

I move up as fast as I can with my horsemen getting to the flanks of the giant.

Goblins move the giant to face and not to much else. Shooting out some magic and arrows does a bit of damage.

Horsemen move behind the giant and the rest advances.

Goblins use a spell to move the orcs, that's about it movement wise.

On mu turn the Horsemen charge the archers pushing them back, but taking a casualty. Rest of the warriors press forward.

Giant charges my block of halbreds, he headbutt my hero immediately killing him which felt a bit lame, but I w9n combat and he git pushed back. The chariot charged my giant and got smashed so I turned to face thd goblin wizard.

Berserkers charge thd Goblins, giant chaces after the mage. Berserkers did ok but it's hard to fight a bunch of characters with all kinds of magic items. They lost frenzy.

Grinding thing down. The khorne berserkers got ground down by the goblin death star, after a few turns but killed the bsb at least. My horsemen got the spiders, the halbred warriors killed the giant and turned to fight the gobbos, but not enough time to kill em.

In the end it was a win for the green skins.

In the end the new game is very complicated but seems ok. Wether it's good or not will be up to the community as the army building rules are a bit bad.

Thanks;

Mike

Battle Report - Warhammer Tournament at Red Dragon

 Hello Folks,

This weekend there was a 2,000 points 6th edition Warhammer Fantasy Tournament at Red Dragon in Ottawa.

I took my High Elf stuff I have been working on lately, knights, eagles, and a griffon. Seemed like fun.

Game: 1

Game 1 I was up against Orcs and Goblins, straight up game if murder for points. Spread out down the line, ircs have a wyvern on 1 side and giant on the other.

Goblins got first trun and moved up, but not super aggressively.

On the far flank I used an eagle to try and bait the giant and threaten a bolt thrower. On the right an eagle charged wolf riders and lost, the rest hid from the wyvern behind a tower.

Orcs continued to advance, with the giant smashing that eagle.

My turn tye air force charged some war machines and cleared them out eventually. On the left I got to charge the ogres and broke them, the giant then panicked off, lucky for me. Also the griffon started f8ght8ng some goblins.

Orcs turn, the wolves charged and killed that eagle. The wyvern charged some knights who fled, and the chariot charged some archers who flee.

Next turn, I blocked the wyvern with an eagle, which he charged and killed but over ran into an awkward place. That chariot also killed my archers, the first unit failing to rally.

On my turn I got to double charge the wyvern with 2 units of knights, 1 in the flank.

In the end lots of stuff killed, pretty much just the big orc and goblin blocks left.

Points wise was a solid win for me, allot because the wyvern died but the griffon didn't.

Game: 2

Game 2 vs the lizardmen. Scenario this time is to break the other army by killing enough of their stuff.

Lizards advance, lots of small units of skinks to cover the good stuff, and terradons for spice.

My plan use eagles to clear out the skinks so knights can charge the meat. This is going to be a process as the skinks want to flee and set up the big hitters to charge.

Keeping on pushing bit of cat and mouse.

Things going well for me on the far flank, but tough on the flank. It's hard to really get the skinks without being left open to the krocs.

Eventually get into a good position, mist of the skinks cleared out ready to charge next turn.

The slann fights back hard, killing the griffon.

I get a good charge on one of the blocks, but not as solid as i hoped. Against the temple guard I lost and was broken.

Eventually lost the other fight to.

Ran out of turns, the lizards had the upper hand for sure, but neither suddenly broken so its a tie!

Game: 3

Game 3 vs the high elves, normal points game but deploy on an angle. We had fun calling each other the dark elves.

Things got hot fast. Bolt throwers shooting diwn eagles, and breaking knights. I thought screw it for fun the eagle charged the dragon. Bit of a disadvantage griffon vs dragon but I'm charging.

Big monsters continue to smash each other, knoghts charging blocks, everyone holding on all sides.

The griffon fought a noble battle, but eventually some white lions got on and that was that.

Better win these fights before its dragon o'clock.

I know one, and got into the bolt throwers, but obe can win in the middle. My bsb is being very stubborn. Winning challenges ect.

The lions charge, but my bsb challenged the champ and killed him. Next round he killed all 3 in base with him. Despite a heroic defense, he eventually got cut down.

Points wise the High Elves came out on top! So it was a lose for me, I thought this story was fun so picked up some dark elves!

So that's the tournament very fun, onto Old World!

Thanks;

Mike
