Battle Report - Old World Renegades vs Empire

 Hello Folks,

Played a game of Old World with Nic today, decided to bring my 100 yrs war guys again but this time tried the renegade crowns list out. Not really that much different but maybe a bit better, full plate vs ability to redeem and get the ladies blessing?

Anyway we played some kind of flanking mission with 3 objectives.

Here's the set up, basically solid foot in the center cover by chaff archer units, cav on the flanks, 1 unit of brigands scouted into the tower, other try to chase the outsiders off my flank.

Empire goes first advancing and picking a few kills with cannons.

My turn I shot crossbows at the griffion  doing good wounds, but sadly my big unit of brigands failed terror and got run down. We forgot the griffion could reform after that I guess.

Knights move up a bit out of arc of the griffion, and I try some shooting and magic. Advancing a but slow as I only want to fight the huge empire blob with 2-3 units.

Griffon flies super close to my bombard, who apparently doesn't get grap shot, and keep blinking with cannons. The tank plays with my light cav.

Griffon rats my cannon and in general the empire advance.

Crossbows bring diwn the griffon. In retrospect we had to many guys shooting out of the building. My knights are able to push back some halbreds and do major damage to some falgellants. But might cav fail morale and leave. Oh also empire mage had a second muscat and killed herself.

The big empire block finally charges, but rolls aggressively crap dice, 2 or 3? Heroes got zero kills. My spears  quite lucky. Keeping their crap dice going the empire fully break and get run down. So that's the game.

Win for the renegade, but the empire probably had it of they didn't get ancy and charge. Plus bad luck.

Also forgot the spears have warband and thus impetious, so some mistakes made. 🤷‍♂️

Mike

Battle Report - 40k Day

 Hello Folks,

Time for another 3rd ed 40k battle Report! This time we have Tyranids vs Imperial Guard, and the mission is meat grinder.

Tyranids are attacking so their troops units get to come back, however they must completely kill the guardsmen to win.

Here's the set up, 65 guardsnen deoyed to defend the emperors territory. Many claws and sharp jawbones ready to eat em.

Tornados advance, not much shooting but get a few guys.

Guards shoot back wounding the hive tyrant, and killing all but 1 ravener and von Ryan's leapers.

Fast tyranids able to get i to combat, but the ws4 drugged up Jordan somethings are annoyingly sticky.

Guard shoot em up, bringing the tyrant to 1 wound, but a plasma gunner blows himself up.

Second wave incoming. A heroic senior officer held out against hormagaunts, only to have a carnifex tap on his shoulder.

Guard in the rocks fight off the last ravener.

Game ends after turn I think 6, only half a dozen guardsmwn cowering in a rock wating for thr carnifex to kill them

But they are there so Guard win!

Very fun game, but came out quite close. I thought it would be more 1 sides. Shows what I know!

Next games day at Fandom, is Jan 10th.

Thanks;

Mike

Battle Report - Ludo Outoais Warhammer Tournament

 Hello Folks,

Yesterday was the Ludo convention held yearly on the quebec side, lots of fun last year, so of course I had to attend again.

I took my 100yrs war stuff and used them as  Brettonian Exiles army. Basic story is an army from the hundred years war was transported to the warhammer world magic, now they must fight to survive.

Note this tournament is not super competitive and has some fun crazy scenarios with special rules that may help or cripple you. I won't be able to rember all the names or rules but will try and give the coles notes.

Game 1: vs Orcs

There were objectives to capture, but murder was the real goal here. Deep in the mines everyone has -1 leadership and the tops of the hills are roof pillars so are impassable.

I set up mainly to hold the center, lights troops deoyed to the tight terrain area.

Orcs com screaming, bit of shooting both sides bug nothing huge fir the first couple turns. Oh except my knight killed some bear boys, but now they have black orcs to deal with. Also allot of failed leadership tests for me in the bad terrain area.

Orcs end up punching through pretty hard. Missed the last picture, but they were able to wipe my army. Pretty disastrous first ho, but fun game honestly!

Game 2: vs Empire

Game 2 was in the desert, the weather here was no effect, except for a spot if quicksand that was instant death. How ever our scenario had an ice storm that had a big negative impact on shooting and artillery, double so he'll blasters.

Arrayed for battle, 2 ice tornados 🌪 seem like trouble, but with all that artillery on the hill they are a blessing.

Advancing behind a screen of brigands, the storm makes it tough but the artillery is getting a few hits in.

Few turns in, my knights have broken through a line of archers and are tearing through the artillery, mean while my foot knights have broken the line. Although allot of knights and most of the brigands had to die to achieve it.

Cleaning up at this point. This game turned out to be a win for me.

Game 3: vs Undead on the Plains (where the rain mostly falls

This game we had some random the made it slightly tough for black powder, but no ice storm, so my lads can handle that. Scenario had units coming from reserve a bit mixed up. Goal as always was to smash the enemy.

A nice juicy hill, and fine field of battle, and the undead split up and coming in piece meal, what could be better?

Almost all my guys came in right away and mostly in the same spot.

Dogs try to eat my cannon guys but narrowly fail. Although ot didn't do much regardless.

Trying to shoot down some pesky summoned zombies. I got 2 hits on the last guy, but he double 6ed h8s regen, that's warhammer baby.

Things are becoming scary.

Brigands prepare to die shooting as the lasy intended.

Lady vampire comes in with grave guard and uses doppelganger? To get like 13 attacks. Impressive but she only kills 1 or 2 knights, that's also warhammer hah!

Many less grave guard, my knights and spears gloriously charge, and my Bowman rain arrows, this is how battle was meant to be. So long as ms. Vampire keeps missing attacks anyway...

My other foots knights with heroic ser Roland somehow kill the big ghouls, and the vampire lasy remains poorly.

Bats save their lady, while my knights clean house in the background. Sadly said archers on the other side are zombies now, but we focus on this side of the table!

In the end this battle was a marginal win for me! But with composition scores applied it seems i didn't win by enough, so the undead claim the morale low ground. Maybe we can all ot a tie?

Very fun tournament, looks forward to next year!

Thanks;
Mike

Battle Report: 40k 3rd Necrons vs Iron Warriors

 Hello Folks,

Today was 40k say again at Fandom. This week we have Necrons vs Iron Warriors in Bunker Assault. Who will be the most metal??

My goal today was to test out not taking the res orb.

Forgot to take pictures turn 1, but as you can see necrons advancing in line blasting bunkers with gauss fire. Mostly on the right flank but 1 necron lord used veil of darkness to teleport himself and sone immortals to press the far side.

Some missile boys in the tall tower taking out pariahs and we can't have that.

Raptors drop in behind sine Warriors and tanks roll on.

Necrons shooting does heavy damage to the raptors, immortals get the missile guys.

Iron turn, raptors charge and and kill a few Warriors. In the center concentrated fire kills my other lords pariah guards and puts a wound on him.

Raptor decides to hit and run, immortals try to kill the devastator but no luck, their lord warps back to pick up the warriors. My warscythe lord charges the demon prince, sadly only doing 2 wounds and tack8ng 1 i think?

Obliterators join the prince vs lord fight. Demon prince goes first, whiffs. Lord also whiff, obliterators pound him into the dirt.

We had another turn but nothing really major happens, the scars get killed I guess.

Points wise I get 450 for killing buckets, Iron warriors end up 20 points ahead! We calk the a draw.

Very good game.

Fir those counting 14 necrons didn't get to use well be back that would have with the orb, but it seems more fun this way as you can play different. I took a phyclatert thou which us crazy with no orb!

Thanks;
Mike

Tournament Report - Saga Battle of 5 Bridges

 Hello All,

Attend a Saga tournament this past weekend so of course have to do the usual battle reports. I took Skraelings, 4 units of warriors and 2 of levy.

Game 1: vs Romans in Desecration

First game, fighting the romans. Have to murder and destroy enemy objectives to uo your max score.

Turn 1 a few shots here and there some moving but not much action.

More advancing brought out the beaver Totem on my warriors hoping for big attacks next turn.

Of course the rimans the attack that unit.

More warriors pressing in with elk Totem. Rerolling defense must ge good.

A fair amount of trading back and forth, but the romans are doing much better passing saves for objectives!

In the end I can only get 1 desecration. Score was like 19 to 16 or something i forget but pretty close!

Game 2: Bridge Crossing vs Caroligians

Time to cross bridges. Turn 1 the enemy advances a bit.

I put up dome puma and beaver cards, but no other dice to do anything.

Carlogians attack on the right doing good damage, right away costing me a dice.

Remaining archers get eagle Totem and fo some good damage. On the right I advance but no dice to press an attack.

Cav and the merc unit on the right pretty much gut my dice. Made a mistake getting near the mercy, also spent their fatigues letting them go wild.

We kept playing but skraeling resistance was put down by then, to few dice to really fight back. Mostly cleaed up but almost got 2 guys accross, hah.

Obviously crushing defeat, 40something to 0?

Game 3: vs Romans in Capture?

Skraeling and romans arrays for battle, 3 points in the middle to capture.

Skraelings advance slow romans do not. BTW where are the Anglo Dane players, what's with all this Cav! Any way major damage to the levy.

But I hit back hard on the warriors, bad dice made me put eagle on some javelin guys but it was okish.

The romans have a strong dislike for arrows it seems. But getting some kills in.

Warlord dies. The skraeling warlord being armor 4(4) for no reason is the only part of thos that really bothers me. Anyway we crush the romans right flank in revenge.

Missing the last picture, but we ended up with like half a  dozen guys left each side.

Victory wise the mathematics phase put ot at 44-37 for the romans or something like that.

Few pics of other games:

Anyway for fun tournament great scenario selection, enjoyed all the games look forward to the next one.

On the Skraeling I don't think they are very good, to slow to fight the top contenders, and the warlord sucking it not great. But still fun to try something different and mess around. Not my style to be sure maybe someone can do better!

Thanks;

Mike
