Hello Folks,
Day 2 of Cangames, I ran a Warhammer Fantasy 6th edition tournament, bringing back the classics. We had 6 people so a pretty good turn out, 1 guy didn't have an army yet, but teamed up with someone and I played.
Game 1:
First game against the high elves.
Moving up a bit.
Tried to charge the chariot against the knights, but a tiny bit out of range and it got killed. Central unit also got rolled by sword masters, not a great start.
Managed to beat up some Spearman thou.
Now to collect some bolt throwers.
1 down.
Trolls fighting more Spearman.
2 down.
Final fight with the knights. In they end I somehow managed to crawl back to a draw, on fact all the games drew round 1.
Game 2:
Fighting the tomb kings this time, in a breakthrough battle.
Getting close.
Things went very bad very fast. Ushabti and a giant really beat up my 1 unit, and now they are each fighting another, not great. On the plus side mr giant charged the chariots and just kept head butting the tomb pr8nce until he died.
Run away!
So the breakthrough could have gone better.
Game 3:
Now fighting the stumpy dwarves, who chose not to take any gun powder unit or warmachines, so some really sturdy blocks.
Mission is to take the center of the field. Trolls were stupid so fell behind a bit.
In position now, my plan really is to roll up the right flank. There's a tough unit of hammerers on the left with a couple of heroes, and I don't want to fight them.
My chariot and Horsemen easily took the slayers down to 1 guy, but less great my warriors were broken by the dwarves.
Decide to give it a try and fight those hammers. Went ok.
Got in a very good position next turn. Horsemen and chariot both charged a unit of miners, prime position to over run into the hammers, and the giant was fighting the other unit. But I made a big mistake and fought the giant first. He somehow failed his stubborn ld 10 test, broke and panicked the chariot. Easy work now to break the Horsemen and it all fell apart.
Very fun game thou.
So that was the warhammer fantasy tournament tournament, very happy how it all went down and seemed that everyone had a good time.
Thanks;
Mike
