Painting - Steel Legion

 Hello All,

Been having a bit of a lazy summer hobby wise, but I have been chipping away at my Steel Legion stuff. Starting to get a decent army going, probably need to add vehicles at this point but anyway here's what's done.

Army so far:


Starting with an army shot as it makes a better thumbnail!

2nd Infantry Squad:

One of the problems with old metal models, limited amount of sculpts. The guard extra legions in particular didn't get much support past the original release, but they are still cool.

Heavy Bolters:

First of the Heavy weapons, the classic heavy bolter. Probably my fav of these units.

Lascannons:


Then the lascannons, everyone likes lasers.

Commisar:


Finally a commissar, not super happy with the gas mask but it's ok. Beleive it or not that is about it so far as Steel Legion infantry they released, any other units have to be the same sculpts. 

I'd really like to add the new Artillery units, maybe I can just use some of these guys as crew. On the other hand both old and new models are not real cheap!

Battle Report - Warhammer Fantasy

 Hello Folks,

Yesterday was the monthly Warhammer Fantasy day at Fabdom. Ended up with my lizards fighting the empire, this week we are doing 2,000 point armies.



Here's the set up, empire have Artillery on the hill, and knights on yhe left. I put my big carnosair out on left, worried zbout cannons. Then all the infantry to fight the knights, all the skirmshiers on the right to fight the hill of guns.


First turn for me, moved in on the right, hopefully they can shoot everything. Being careful on the left, scary amount of knights.

Empire do really bad with shooting,  all 3 warmachines misfire, and not many hand gun hits on the skinks.


This leaves it easy for my terradons to ckeam up the warmachines, while the skinks support, so I am able to send the steggadon to help vs the knights.

Bad luck fir the empire, and the outsiders fail terror and flee.


My turn carnpsaur and can charge the small knights and crysh them. Spear sarus force the issue.


Knights easily beat the sarus, turns out the have the griffin standard, so double ranks but can't pursue, so I'm not really punished 


Steggadon gets the flank, which is good for me, he even kills the knights grandmaster. Next turn I get the carnosaur and cav in and that's that. The knights fought hard but can't kill everyone.
