Battle Report - Team Yankee - 50 Points

Hello All,

Time for another Wednesday wargaming battle Report! This week more team yankee, but decided to change things up a bit and gi for a 50 point game.

I decided to change things up a bit so went for a Patton company, using my tanks that were painted for  the Arab Israeli war. Also had some Humvees. Serge went for  a purely East German force with T55s T72s plus infantry and all the fixings.

Mission roll gave us dust up.

Heres is the deployment. I started in the right corner but used spearhead moves to sneak left behind the hill. Germans had a similar plan to get behind the forest. Plan to press the objectives with Humvees and defend with tanks.

Sadly I forgot about the super dangerous Herman infantry teams with 3 missiles each. I moved some tanks to try and kill one, but it lived.

Germans advanced through the woods and wiped out a tank and humvee squad with said missiles.

I decided that the infantry can keep their lands so moved my tanks to defend. Some humvees were stuck pinned down behind the hill however, with a horde of transports incoming.

Russians advance not to much action.

Then cleared out the humvees.

I got some reserves on turn 4, but they were forced behind the hill, to avoid the missiles.

Germans got reserves as well and brought in T72s. But they missed their shots. On the left a war between transports and infantry raged.

Bit of hope this turn. My reinforcement Pattons killed a t55 units, and the infantry were chipping away the tanks. On the other side I killed a t72. Not bad.

But the Germans are pushing in close and flanking, so my commanders were sadly killed.

I had to shift to hold the objective but killed a platoon of T72s. By this time the transports are pretty much all destroyed.

Germans move on 2 objectives which is bad. I figure my only chance to hold is to kill all the tanks near objectives.

I'm able to clear the left objective. But left with a bail and a morale test over here. If the Germans fail both I can hold on, sadly they pass both and tale the objective.

So a win for the bad guys. Was pretty fun thou. Those infantry teams are a real problem for sure. Guess I should paint some French Milan missile teams!

Thanks;
Mike

Painting Update - Warhammer Fantasy

Hello All,

Have another bit of a painting update for you. Recently have gotten bitten by the Warhammer bug so have been painting some fantasy stuff.

My goal is to get back into playing some old edition games, 5th or 6th. I had a copy of Island of Blood so inital plan was to just paint that but have picked up some more, plus I had some old models.

Pointy eleves were always my favorite so doing some of them

Sword Masters:

To get things started I picked one of my favorite units, elves with big swords, cant go wrong. These are plast7c from the set so really great models.

Archers:

Then decided I need some core units, archers seemed easy to paint so went for them.

Mage:

Next a hero to lead things. Had this old guy lying around sprayed white fir like 10 years so did him. Came out pretty well.

Army Shot:

So that's what I have so far. Working 9n 5 knights to get a second vote unit, then 8 will gave a legal list.

Archaeology:

Interestingly this is my third time doing elves, I actually have an archer model from each time. On the left one of the first models I ever did, way back in high school maybe 20 years. At the time I felt painting bases was axwaste of time! Middle guy is like 10-12 years ago, and right recent.

So you can hopefully see how this have improved!

I should be painting black seas ships, but been slacking on that.

Pledge Status, 2020:

Bought: 101 (bunchbif elves)
Painted: 43
Total: -29

Battle Report - Team Yankee - Campaign

Hello Folks,

Another battle Report for the on going Team Yankee campaign. This time I was defending against the Soviets once again with the French. The mission roll gave us Free for All, which us by far my least favorite but that's ok.

Heres is the set up. Sadly I had to go first, which meant no artillery or air, and all my tanks count as moving which is a big loss.

I shot as much as possible and put a decent dent in some of the tank platoons, but there was really allot.

Russians press forward on mass, and cut the heart out of the French tanks. Most of the AMX-30s were killed, then laid smoke to cover a flank.

I hat back as hard as possible killing a few more tanks, but a bit more scattered this time. Sadly no air, but I sent my helicopters to f9ght the Soviet AA missiles which went well, but lost the cobras.

Soviets advance on mass again, as you can see a giant line pressing the objective. Annoyingly my 1 M113 by the building stuck around and blocked some shots.

Luckily the air force arrived! The Mirages bombed out a nice batch of tanks, the M113 limited it a bit but still good. Killed a few more with the French Recon tanks.

Russians moved fully on to the objective and lay out what fire they can.

French return fire to  the max, more greatcwork from the Mirage and AMX-30RC. In the end only the battalion commander is alive in the objective, plus a transport. But that is enough for the win. 21 of 23 Russian tanks down.

Was a pretty good game. To be honest thou I am starting to max out a bit on Team Yankee, all the games are a bit the same. There's is a horde of tanks and you try not to die.

At the very least I am due for a change of points to mix things up a bit!

Anyway we had a great turn out fir the club day  heress a few pics of all that.

Thanks;
Mike
