Had some canada day star wars action.
I took the Echo Base Defenders against Blizard Force in a skirmish fight. The mission was bunker assault, plus some scanning.
Here's the set up, most of my guys have prepared positions so set up on the board, the rest come in turn 1.
Turn 1 I played a card that put allot of my machine gun lasers on stand by so they could shoot up advancing storm troopers
This worked pretty well. But the speeder came in early which let the walker get the drop on him. Less good.
Turn 2, my first idea was to try to whooping the walker, but else fly him far away to try and distract the walker from my bunker, and help clear a path for my tauntauns to take one. This kinda worked but my speeder git shot down. Other wise chipping away at the walker with my big laser and getting efficiency from the blaster guys with standby.
Turn 3 was about the taun tauns forcing forward while an infantry unit came up to contest the bunker. The riders turned out surprisingly good charging into melee. This plus all the blaster fire took a toll on the storm troopers.
I forgot the last picture, but by then end of turn 4 or 5? They just had 2 units including the walker. That guy could do allot of damage to my force, but won't be able to catch up on points.
So a win for the rebels. MVP probably standby token, but I'll say the riders!
