This past Sunday was another Warhammer tournament at Red Dragon, have been feeling like doing some fantasy lately so I attended and brought my 100 yrs wars guys using the renegade crowns list.
Game 1: vs Slayers
Here's the set up, sellswords with the griffon banner in the center, flanked by veteran sellswords with full plate and great weapons, flanked by crossbows and archers, cav one the right flank. My plan just to shoot em up.
Dwarves coming in but taking lots of casualties.
A line guy charges sone archers but the gets shot up.
One dwarf block makes it in but gets ground down.
More dwarfs charge in.
Ran out of turns at this point. Basically we each lost a unit, ended up a draw!
Game 2: vs Chaos Warriors
Setup for game 2 fighting chaos now. More or less same game plan,but they have more armor and are faster so that's concern.
Hello cannon immedatly goes crazy and charges up fast.
Not many chaos die from shooting...
Units break through bith sides of my lines.
Have maybe a decent chance to turn it around but my knights fail a charge by 1".
Got surrounded and cleaned up from there. Missing last picture but I got wiped out.
Game 3: vs more Chaos!
Set up for game 3, mission this time is to capture the sacred swamp in the middle. For the third time in a row I fail to get first turn. But the dice gods have my back after that.
Demon prince coming in hot.
Shoot him up pretty good, I think like half killing the guy. Stupidly give him the flank pf my knights thou.
Demon prince comes in but he just can't take out my lord, used a Joan of arc model.
Blast a unit of forsaken and try to get some help in time.
The dice gods aren't behind the demon prince. After like 3 combats he chips joan away 1 wound at a time. Oh also the warriors fly in just like their boss.
I shoot the good out of the warriors, and my foot unit saves the day. Their champion challenged the demon prince who only did 1-2 wounds with his 500 str 8 attacks, the rolled high on his beard test and ceased to exist.
Chaos chosen knights are problematic thou, and the bloodied warriors are feasting on my Bombard are missile troops.
Knights chewing up sellswords, marauders flailing out riders. But my griffion standard guys smash the warriors.
Very fun game, ending in a victory for me. Very lucky thou, I got every spell off, lord would die, vs Chaos casting maybe 2. But that's how it goes lots of murdering fir both sides!
Fun tournament overall, look forward to the next. Would really love to do 1 with the 500pt rules to change things up!
