Battle Report - Warhammer Fantasy 6th Tournament

 Hello All,

Today had the chance to playbin a Warhammer 6th Edition tournament! The classics are back.

I took some luzardmen and set off ti have some fun. Format was 75 pts game 1, 1200, and then 2000 for the final game.

Game 1: vs Empire

Set up for the first game, facing diwn the empire. Great swords, knights, a mortar and sone foot troops.

Move up, and the mortar kills a guy.

Turn 3, my Sarus Cav use their magic banner to sneak in a charge against the militia, killing them. Other stuff moves up.

Skinks flee from the charging knights.

The cav end up loosing to the great swords, and the knight break the sarus so a los3 fir game 1.

Game 2: vs Orcs and Goblins:

Here's the set up, this time scenario is to capture the hill in the middle 

Orcs move up a bit, and get a really good hit on the sarus cav. Sadly on my turn goblin fanatics killed all but 1. But my teradons got in position to get the rock thrower. I killed some goblin wolf riders on 1 flank with magic, and my lone chatacter got some on the other.

Giant tries to chage the last of the cav, but the fanatic kills him first!

My turn the terradons kill that war machine, and the wounded steggadon charges some orcs but runs away, bringing the super close to the sarus.

Guess I missed some pics! But the Sarus killed 1 orc unit, but in return got jumped on by the giant. I could have won turn 4 if the game ended, but it didn't and the orcs wore me down.

Game 3: vs High Elves 

Final game vs the high elves somethings going down.

Elves move up a bit getting into big problems with some big rocks. Also kill the terradons with magic.

I move up, big dinosaurs trying to charge. I use my cavs magic banner to surprise sone light cav, easily killing them and over running into fancier elf knights.

High elves pepper my carnosair up real good and make sone skinks flee.

Dinosaurs charge! But the knights flee, the big guy fails to get into do to some magic. On the other side I kill another unit of elf knights thou!

Another time skip hah. Allot has died, the steggadon charged the knights but somehow lost and fled, while arrows annoying brought diwn my big boy. Now we git a mix up remains of knights and sword master charge the sarys who hold!

But they eventually break. My lone hero fights the griffin lord but dies, and my cav fight the next unit of elf knights, and somehow eventually win!

Real fun game with lots of carnage, but I'm down allot on points, si a third loss.

Was great fun thou, super fun to play this old game again!

Painting Update - Maya

 Hello Folks,

Got a bit more painting done, some more maya mainly.

Calakmal Warriors with Macuahuitl:

So here's the next Maya unit some warriors with big beat sticks. I'm not exactly sure what the shoulder armor is meant to be, but I decided to imagine it as wood squares. Pretty cool.

Jungle Swarms:

Also got a couple if quick lizard swarms dice for a warhammer fantasy 6th edition tournament on Sunday!

Painting Update - Warriors of Chaos

 Hello All,

Got I bit of paiting done. Should be doing Maya but instead I started up a bit if a distraction project and decided to paint some Chais Warriors I traded with Jeff for. 

Partly just because I thought it would be easy! Which it was.

Warriors:

Bunch of really old school chunky boys with halbreds. Kind of thought to rank up but I think they are actually pretty fun.

Chaos Champion:

Also did this Chaos Champion choking out a word elf guy hah.

Anyway thats all for now.

Battle Report - Star Wars

 Hello All,

Time for more Star Wars. We again have the Droid army vs Duncan and Stan's imperial.

I decided to try out Count Dooku as the leader this time with various new stuff.

We also used the objective and set up cards, just picking randomly. Battle was to capture supplies, with no conditions. Set up was a complicated corner.

Set up and a bit into turn 1. Basically advancing up and shoot8ng whatever was in range.

Star of round 2. I kept all the droids focused on the objectives, all units just advancing and trying ti get those, others taking shots where possible. Am able to deal with the forward storm troopers who are close to objectives, but otherwise taking allot of damage.

Turn 3, Cad Bane is damage by boba and unceremoniously killed off by other stuff. The bigger droids advance to cover the smaller droids retreat with the goodies. The droidikas went diwn hard but absorbed allot of fire. 

More falling back, except the heroic spider droid, who keeps the Imperial warn with his flamer then blows up in their face. The emperor hurt dookus feeling at the start of this turn giving him 4 pins which was also pretty annoying.

Next turn the Imperial guard are getting close, so dooku decodes to try some fun, zapping them with lightning and getting into a sword fight.

At this point it's 4:30 and i have 3 objectives to the Imperials zero, so I declare myself the winner and go home.

All in all a fun game. Really need to paint my tank, and maybe the Droid version of the Imperial guard. Also want to try a cheaper commander. Having dooku roided out on upgrade cards hiding behind a house was not that satisfying somehow!

Anyway Star Wars is fun so surely more ti come.

Painting Update - Maya & Star Wars

Finally Cad Bane, was to cool in the Boba Fett show to not get.

Not a huge number of guys, but that what got done.

Battke Report - Bagration Turn 1

 Hello All,

Duncan and I played our turn 1 campaign game this weekend. Since heavy tanks were so popular in my last report, I decided ti take some tigers again, with panzer 4s and some rockets. Facing off against quite allot of t34s.

Mission roll gave us free for all, not my fav mission, but probably for the best to not have reserves. I took the tiger ace card as ots fun, roll the ace so I get to choose and went for rapid fire.

Here we have the russian plains.

German turn 1 annoyingly, every thing counts as moving so not to effective shooting wise.

The soviet horde advances.

I take some shots, and scoot back into cover. Get a few kills so can't complain to much.

SU 100s try ti flank the tigers but miss. On the right the t34s are really chipping away at the panzer 4s, and the air support is helping them. Going to be tough to hold.

Tigers try ti blitz but fail and advance to try and cover the objective. The infantry kills 1 su100 with a panzerfauat and pushes the rest back.

T34s mostly stay still and bring the pa8n on the panzer 4s. While the is2 hide, and the su100 move back out of the town.

Time for the tigers to shine! They get 6 hits on the t34s, but only pass 1 firepower! Luckily the infantry is there to cover and take all but 2 in assault. Still on the right things are looking dire.

Russian turn, you may see an issue. They clear out all the tanks and Artillery on the right, leaving the objective open. Also shoot up the infantry pretty good.

In the end the tigers are ti far and to unlucky to break that platoon.

So despite allot of murder, it's an 8-1 fir the russkies. The armored panzer grenadier is destroyed.

Painting Update - Maya + others

 Hello Folks,

Time for the first painting post of the year. Month in but got a good bit done.

Maya Archers:

Finally was able to get some Maya for Mythic Americas! They are pretty nice models, the base size is a bit bigger so tried to go for some fancier basing.

Sarus Warriors:

Also got a small unit of Sarus warriors done. Ready for some WFB at some point.

SS Infantry:

Finally the unit i actually painted first, some SS infantry. Pic seems a bit blurry, but I went for the fall style.
